People believe in supernatural things like ghosts and supersitions because sometimes it's the only way for them to explain situations which are difficult to understand. Some things are very complicated and because of that sometimes it's much simple to believe in supernatural things than try to excuse why for example book falls down if we drop it. It would take a lot of time to understand this law of physics. Fortunately there are people, who want to know the truth and they don't give up in their researches.
Your last sentence, even though perfectly sensible, is not related to the question. You should stick to people who do not do science and endorse the supernatural.
